NAC 2014 inter club, day 2, Armageddon
Finally Sunday the 14th dawned. With great excitement I loaded the truck with all my gear and headed off to Armageddon paintball field. With the clubs NAC, MAC, TAG and CSG all in attendance it was sure to be a good day. When briefing finished it was finally time to head out onto the wasteland field of Armageddon. Armageddon is covered in small buildings, cars and crates that create fast, exciting and close quarter’s game play.
My favourite game of the day was a variant of ‘king of the hill’. With two capture points in the middle of the field it was mad race at the start of the game to gain field superiority. Unfortunately my team was not quite quick enough off the start line.
We were in a tight spot, losing ground by the second. With bb’s raining in from all angles it was not looking like we were going to win. But with Jamie thinking quick on his feet we were able to come up with a better game plan. With great urgency we executed the plan.
With the majority of the team leap frogging up the left we quickly gained ground back. Soon enough we had taken one capture point back. This meant we were able to send players back to the right side of the field. After re-joining some of our team mates on the right who had stopped a counter flank manoeuvre we soon captured the second objective. With great communication were able to hold these two points for the rest of the game.
This example shows that Airsoft requires great teamwork, communication and quick thinking to achieve a goal.
Everyone in attendance was very honest and friendly. Which overall made for a fantastic inter club.
With over 40 players in attendance it was a great experience for all.
For anyone who enjoys team sport Airsoft is for you!
